Suneal Khemraj

Suneal is a litigator practicing in our Toronto office in the areas of commercial, civil, and insurance litigation. He joined Dolden Wallace Folick in 2017.

Prior to joining Dolden Wallace Folick, Suneal articled and practiced with an international insurance defence firm in Toronto.

Suneal has particular expertise in the areas of occupiers’ liability, hospitality liability (commercial and social host), product liability, municipal liability, professional negligence, and disputed claims/coverage litigation. He has appeared on matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Small Claims Court.

PRODUCT LIABILITY

Suneal has defended claims relating to a wide range of products/materials, including representing manufacturers and suppliers of pipe for a variety of projects.

LIQUOR LIABILITY

Suneal has represented numerous establishments defending claims arising from the service of alcohol, use of force and alleged assaults by staff members.

MUNICIPAL LIABILITY

Suneal has been retained by numerous municipalities in Ontario to defend claims arising from slip and falls, trip and falls and property damage.

PROFESSIONAL NEGLIGENCE

Suneal’s professional negligence practice concentrates on acting on behalf of an array of professionals including insurance brokerages and brokers, contractors, architects and engineers.

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE

Suneal has a diverse medical malpractice practice, which includes defending naturopaths, podiatrists, physiotherapy clinics and their support staff (including physiotherapist assistants).

COVERAGE & MONITORING

Suneal has provided coverage advice under E&O, D&O and CGL policies to both domestic and London market insurers. He also has experience acting as monitoring counsel in an array of complex litigations across a wide spectrum of practice areas.

EDUCATION

Suneal obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University in 2011, majoring in Criminology and International Development Studies. He also obtained Juris Doctors from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy.

During law school, Suneal spent a number of years volunteering at Community Legal Aid where he was given the opportunity to act as a student supervisor and litigator while representing a number of clients. He also served as an Editor for the Windsor Review of Legal and Social Issues.
