The partners are very pleased to announce that Suneal Khemraj has joined the firm’s Toronto office; and Serena Lam has joined the firm’s Vancouver office.

Suneal is a litigator practicing in our Toronto office in the areas of commercial, civil, and insurance litigation. He joined Dolden Wallace Folick in 2017.
Prior to joining Dolden Wallace Folick, Suneal articled and practiced with an international insurance defence firm in Toronto.
Suneal has particular expertise in the areas of occupiers’ liability, hospitality liability (commercial and social host), product liability, municipal liability, professional negligence, and disputed claims/coverage litigation. He has appeared on matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Small Claims Court.

Serena has experience defending claims and pursuing subrogated claims on behalf of insurers and self-insured corporations. Serena’s background also includes experience in commercial litigation, employment, human rights, disability, and privacy law. Serena has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia and a number of administrative tribunals and agencies.
Serena’s representative work includes:
-Pursuing subrogated claims involving product deficiencies, professional negligence, and property damage arising from construction work and fire loss
-Defending insurers and self-insured corporations in bodily injury, occupier’s liability, and property damage claims
-Defending property loss claims on behalf of self-insured corporations, including transportation and cargo loss claims
-Advising and representing individuals with respect to personal injury and disability claims
-Advising and representing employers with respect to employment and human rights law claims
-Advising and representing employers and organizations with respect to privacy law issues and freedom of information requests
Prior to practicing law, Serena obtained her BA and JD from the University of British Columbia. During her legal studies, Serena volunteered with the Law Review and the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, and interned with the BC Provincial Court with UBC’s Judicial Externship Program.
