Raminder Hayre joined our firm in 2020 after practicing insurance defence at a regional firm, and personal injury at a national firm. During her articles, she also practiced criminal defence work. She has experience in both the B.C. Provincial Court and B.C. Supreme Court, and more specifically includes:
- Coverage disputes relating to fraud claims involving arson, conversion, fraudulent wage-loss, wilfully false statements, and breaches generally.
- Bad faith claims.
- Staged accidents.
- Criminal sentencings and bail hearings.
Outside of work, Raminder is a mentor to law students and aspiring lawyers through UBC Law and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers. She is the Chair of the CBABC Equality and Diversity Committee, the CBABC Executive Equality Representative, and a Director and Secretary of the South Asian Bar Association of B.C. She enjoys spreading awareness about mental health and wellness in the legal profession and speaks on the topic regularly.
Growing up she competed in 5 types of dance and stills maintains strong ties to the South Asian community where she participated in professional dance competitions. She is also fluent in speaking Punjabi.
